# Navigating Usage Metrics with GRAVITY Telemetry GRAVITY Telemetry Usage Metrics enables you to track and analyze user interactions with the GRAVITY Framework and your sites, so that you can make informed decisions and improve overall user experience. ![[1_27_barycenter_Telemetry_guidejpg.jpg]] *Image 1 - GRAVITY Telemetry* ## "Unique Users" and "Total Events" A key feature of GRAVITY Telemetry is the ability to switch views between "Unique Users" and "Total Events". This capability is strategically located at the top left of each data table across all views within the Telemetry interface. ![[1_27_callout_statistics_switch_user-total-events.jpg]] - **Unique Users**: When this view is selected, the data presented focuses on the number of distinct individuals who have interacted with the application within a specified timeframe. This perspective is crucial for understanding the reach of your application and gauging user engagement levels. - **Total Events**: Switching to this view changes the focus to the cumulative count of specific actions or occurrences logged by the telemetry system. This could include user clicks, page views, error occurrences, and any other tracked events. This view helps in analyzing the volume of activity and identifying patterns or trends over time. ## Users with GRAVITY - **Users with GRAVITY - On the date**: This data shows the number of individual active users on your app or site on this single day. - **Users with GRAVITY - Max till the date**: This data shows the total number of individual active users that are counted over all the time GRAVITY has access to this applications/site. This is a measure of how many people could potentially be on that application at any given moment. ## GRAVITY control - **GRAVITY control - Manually ON/OFF**: Indicates how many users have turned GRAVITY ON or OFF by hand. If GRAVITY is turned on automatically (Admin Site configuration), such an activation will **not** count toward ON in this metric. Only manual activation or deactivation are displayed here; automatic activations do not affect the count. ## Dashboard By tracking the frequency of Dashboard button clicks over time, you can discern user behavior trends and patterns. This insight can prove invaluable when planning improvements or adjustments to your Callouts content. Such patterns may signal inadequate information on your site, or users struggling to locate the desired information on the page. - **Opened**: Indicates the number of times users have clicked on the Dashboard button in GRAVITY. - **Search used**: The number of times users have used the search function in the Dashboard. ## Information Dock - **Opened manually**: The number of times users press the Information Dock icon in the GRAVITY control. This data provides insights into how often users seek additional information. This can help identify whether users are finding the information provided on your site clear and sufficient. - **Opened automatically:** The number of times the Information Dock was opened automatically for a user. This data gives insights into the frequency at which Callouts on the Information Dock are shown, typically due to them being set as 'open at once' or 'enforced'. Analyzing this can help determine if your users are overwhelmed with too much generic information and, as a result, might be overlooking them. # Interpreting these data points When analyzing your data, look for patterns and trends over time. A single snapshot of data may not provide a comprehensive understanding without context - consider variables such as special events, learning campaigns, and site changes. You can filter not only by sites, but also by time range. See the [[GRAVITY Telemetry Filter Guide]] for more information. Bear in mind each metric might have different implications in different contexts. Always consider the unique circumstances surrounding your site, and interpret the data accordingly. Remember, successful telemetry interpretation involves understanding the 'what' and 'why': what the data is showing you, and why it might be happening. This process will support you in making more informed decisions to enhance the user experience on your site. ## Decoding the '-' Symbol in GRAVITY Telemetry In GRAVITY Telemetry, you may encounter a '-' symbol within a table cell. Please note that this doesn't denote zero but indicates that no data is available for that specific cell. This generally occurs because the statistics process was not operating at the time. --- For deeper insights into your content, please explore the [[GRAVITY Callout Statistics]].
